Ethical conduct with respect to consumers is of principal importance for the direct selling industry. In 1982, the direct selling industry pioneered introduction of self-regulating rules followed by introduction and implementation of the European Direct Selling Code of Conduct. In 2014–2015, more than thirty years later and following several updates, we consolidated our conduct to comply with new EU legislation and contribute to enhancement of some of its provisions beyond the framework of legal requirements. The European Direct Selling Code of Conduct of Seldia was last updated in 2015 to be applied by member companies in their business transactions.

The Czech Direct Selling Association adopted a new amended wording of its Code of Conduct in late 2018 aiming at achieving the satisfaction and protection of consumers, the promotion of fair competition in the framework of free enterprise, and the enhancement of the public image of direct selling, which is to sell quality products on fair terms and conditions to consumers.

The Code of Conduct of the Czech Direct Selling Association is not law but obligations for member companies and direct sellers arising from it require a high level of ethical conduct which is in line or may go beyond the legislation in force.

 

Member companies are obliged to adopt and enforce this Code of Conduct and the Articles of Association of the Czech Direct Selling Association as a condition of admission and continuing membership in AOP.
